So, I know that I should keep on writing different posts, but it is hard to think of things when life is just same old shmame old. One thing that did happen was that Chris' abuelo in LA passed away a little over a week ago. Chris was able to go down to California and spend a little time with family, and I am really glad that he could do that. Chris is very close to his grandparents, so this was really hard on him. This summer I think that we will try to go to Honduras with all of Chris' family when they spread Papa's ashes in the ocean. Chris and I have decided that no matter what our financial situation, we will make it a top priority to be with family during important family events.. so hold us to it everyone. I hope that Chris's grandma is okay adjusting to this big change in her life. It makes me sad to imagine my life without my homeboy.. I need to be better at appreciating him on a daily basis.

Black and Blue
So, I thought that I should add a couple of Sofia pictures to the blog so that people don't get bored (not that I have a huge audience out there). The one of Sofia in the pink hat is from the end of September, but the other two are more recent.
So, I am writing this post with a black eye and a puffy lip. I just got done playing a city league basketball game.. and boy oh boy did I ever play against some intense mamas. A lady from my team and a lady on the other team almost got in a fight (which was kind of funny).. but then the trash talking just kept getting worse and worse from the other team. I was trying to yell at both teams to be good sports and "chill out", but the more I tried to make peace with the other team, the more I seemed to piss them off. To make a long story short, I have a black eye and a puffy lip from a butch haired, 6"2 woman. Needless to say, I am not sad that that that will be my last game. If anyone ever wants a good laugh, come watch a bunch of ladies (many of whom are middle aged) trash talking.. it'll give you a good laugh.

Ripped Off!!
So, the most annoying thing happened the other day. I was going to the LBCC Benton Center to pick up the keys for the room I will be using next week. As usual, there was no parking at all at the Benton Center, so I did the naughty thing of parking at Borders in the very back (where all of the other LBCC people who can't find parking park). I was in the building for not even 15 minutes, and when I come out of the building, my car had been towed!! Someone must have seen me walk with Sofia to the Benton Center and immediately towed my car! Now, I do realize that I was in the wrong for parking in the wrong spot...so I do acknowledge that, but there are a few things that made me mad. The first is that there is never parking at LBCC. The second is that it cost me $220 to get my stinkin car back. I was shocked when I found out how much it would cost me! The third thing that makes me mad is that I had to carry Sofia almost a mile in the winter to walk to the place to get my flipping car (and I am lucky that it happened to be that close). So the moral of my story is that.. how can a company legally charge $220 to have your car towed under a mile? I can understand if I had a $35.00 parking ticket on my car when I came back at most.. but $220 is just depressing. I cried in Borders when the lady on the phone told me how much it would cost, and I cried the whole way walking, and I cried as I paid my $220 to the lady. Maybe that was a little dramatic.. but something happens to me when I start crying where I can't stop.. trust me.. I tried. Has anyone else ever paid that much? As a citizen of the Us of A, I say that something needs to be done about this. Why does business have to be so serious, that a guy sees a mom walking with baby, and anxiously waits to tow her car? This is why I would be a very bad business woman...because I just wouldn't have the heart to do that. It almost makes you feel bad for the people who ruin people's days as a living. Anyways... that is my vent.. I already feel better after getting that out :)!

Got Milk?
So my first topic that I would like to bring up is breastfeeding. Sofia is about to be 15 months, and I have already cut back a lot in nursing, but I am starting to get to that point where I am trying to make a weaning plan. Breastfeeding is one of those topics that most people have some kind of opinion on. I have had people make comments that they are shocked that I am nursing a child this old, and I have also had friends and family who completely get what I am doing. So this is my opinion on the matter... I feel like breastfeeding is a completely natural and wonderful thing to do. I am not a mathematician but I created an equation that goes like this: Human Breastmilk=Best kind of milk for human babies. I understand that many moms choose not to nurse at all or for very long and that is completely fine if they feel comfortable with that decision, but for me... it has just felt right for me and Sofia to be nursing. Besides, now that I have a wild and engergetic child.. it is the only time that we snuggle anymore. I would be interested in knowing how long other people were nursed... and their opinions on the matter. My mom nursed me and all of my siblings for at leat 18 months... so for me, I never even really thought of the idea that other people would think that it is wierd. Also, I am interested in knowing what people think about nursing in public. I would also like to hear from other people who have weaned a child and how they did it.. gradual.. cold turkey? So.. this is my first random topic blog. Don't be worried or scared for future blogs.. not all will involve human anatomy.(p.s. It is okay if your opinion is not the same as mine.. just share yours in a respectful way :).

Technology is cool
Okay, so I think that I shame my husband with my lack of interest in technology, but I have to admit, blogging is cool. Instead of sending out lame emails every few months that aren't personal at all, you can know what's going with me and my family as little or as often as you would like. It's not like I have a lot of interesting stuff to say.. but it keeps relationships more genuine when you know the little things that are going on with people. Haven't we all had that experience when you run into someone that you haven't talked to in ages and you don't have anything to talk about. When they say "What's going on" you think,"Where do I start.. getting married.. finishing college... work.. baby?? So intead.. you stand in silence and end the conversation as soon as you can. This blog will be more like the kind of friendship when you call up your friend and she says,"How did it go trying to wean Sofia last night," or, " How's that nasty growth on your toe doing?" So in this blog, you will get the good, the bad, and the ugly. I would also like to bring up different topics every once in awhile and have people post comments with their opinions.
