Listening Pleasure for the whole family.

I love good music.Boy oh boy do I love good music. With that said, I must say that most kids music is annoying. Yes, it brings a smile to my face when I hear Sofia sing "Elmo, you can drive my car," but my head starts ringing after the 100th time. That is why with great pleasure, I bring you some of my top pick for kids' music. Seriously... satisfaction guaranteed or your money back!

Baby Loves Jazz-This CD is awesome. You will find yourself being laughed at at the stoplight when you are grooving and singing like Aretha Franklin to the "Paw Paw Patch." This CD takes great songs and adds a jazzy twist. This is one of the best kid cds out there.

Curious George Soundtrack-Jack Johnson is so cool. You will feel like a rockstar mom when your kid busts out singing "It's always more fun to share with everyone." The 3R's is also the coolest and catchiest song. No annoying songs here. Every song is awesome.

Elizabeth Mitchell-When you and your kids are ready to wind down, pop in the every so folky and fabulous Elizabeth Mitchell. Songs I love are "Peace like a river," and "Who's my pretty baby."
Listen to these tunes and tell me what you think. Share your ideas as well!

Becerra Part I

Chris' parents were up a couple of weekends ago, and then we were able to go down and visit them in Klamath for a few days. We did so much that I am not going to take time to write about it all, but here are a million pictures to document that we did indeed have a good time :). Here are the photos from when they were up here. We went to the aquarium, and by the way, I am now a member. If anyone wants to come with me, I can get two adults in for free whenever I go!

The men. Gabe's outfit was worn by Chris when he was a baby.

Daddy and kids. Hey, nice pits Chris.

(Can anyone tell me how to get captions under the right pictures? I try to upload and write underneath, but then the writing always ends up in random places on the side. Help please :)

"We're Going to the Zoo Zoo Zoo. How About You You You...."

Here are our photos from the zoo yesterday. We had such a good time, and I dare say that Gabe may have enjoyed himself the most. He loved petting the goats and staring at the Orangutan. When we were looking at the Orangutan, Sofia felt the need to help a man who kept calling them monkies by saying "It's not a monkey, it's an Octagon."

Whatever Lady

Nothing is more annoying than when someone tries to question your competency as a parent. So we are at the fountains downtown having a merry old time. Sofia has already made friends with every kid there, and Gabe is crawling through the water with more gust than most of the older kids. Speaking of Gabe crawling, if any of you have seen him lately, you know that he is quick, crazy, and fearless. As he is crawling up onto a rock/seat with me right next to him, a lady heads towards me from across the fountain to grace me with a special visit and to say this in a condescending tone:"You really need to watch your baby better, because that rock is slick, and he is going to fall off of it and get really hurt." As she turns to walk away, all I could think of to yell out was "Mind your own business." (I've never been good with quick comebacks)Ahrr... I know my baby and his capabilities, and I was right next to him anyways. Maybe she was trying to be helpful and maybe I am overly sensitive (as most parents are), but I just did not need that. So, what comments have you all gotten from the crazy woman at the park, or the grumpy man at the grocery store? Please share with me, so I can know that I am not the only dead beat parent out there :).

"Is Your Mama A Llama" photos and more

We got home a week ago from spending a lot of time with all of my familia in Medford. There were 12 children under of the age of 8 staying under the same roof along with parents! Crazy? Yes. Fun? Yes if you can believe it. I am going to post pictures from the week in series, because I don't have time to post them all right now. Here are some of the highlights from the trip:
*Family Talent Show Night- My sisters and I did an awesome rendition of "The Ants (Aunts) Go Marching."
*Llama farm visit
*swimming in the kiddie pools
*Science Works Children's Museum and Lithia Park in Ashland.
*Most people went white water rafting
*Overall food, fun, and laughter... oh yeah.. and chaos.
I wish that we lived close to everyone. It is so amazing to see the sweet bonds that the cousins have formed. I love you family!
Here is the first series of photos from the Llama farm:

Only with the Becerras

Chris and I aren't the most graceful of people in the world. That is why we always do weird things like this: The other day I am sitting at the table slowly lifting my glass of water to take a drink. At the same time, Chris is sitting down to eat. Somehow we timed it perfectly so that my glass bonked him on his front tooth and chipped a big piece of it off. This picture doesn't do it justice at all since it is so small. I am getting a little more used to it, but I sometimes can not control my laughter when my hillbilly husband bears his pearly whites. I love you Chris... chipped tooth and all.

Can You?

Can you listen to all of Chain of Fools by Aretha Franklin without busting a move or groove? I dare you to try.

Mama Mia

I was with my family this whole last week, and everyone freaked out when they found this picture of my mom at how much they think I look like her. It's funny, because I don't look like her now really, but what do you all think.... do you see the resemblance? Oh, and by the way, many many pictures to come once I have the energy to get them all organized.
